Alan Recher

President and Chief Executive Officer

Alan Recher joined Five Star as Chief Operating Officer in 2005, before taking the reins as CEO in 2008. He has 31 years of industry experience, including ten years here. Alan was named Operator of the Year from NAMA in 2015. Prior to joining Five Star, Alan served as Vice President of Aramark Refreshment Services.  He is a graduate of Northern Michigan University.

Jean Bouchard

Chief Financial Officer

Jean joined Five Star in 2010 as Chief Financial Officer.  He has 26 years of related field experience, including serving as Vice President for Quality Distribution and then CFO for Xpress Global Systems, a Tennessee-based transportation and logistics company, and the largest bulk tank truck and logistic services provider in North America.  Jean earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from University of Quebec, and is a Canadian Chartered Accountant (CPA equivalent in Canada).

Gregory McCall

Chief Revenue Officer

In a career spanning 24 years, Greg McCall has shared his winning sales and marketing skills with such powerhouse global brands as the Sara Lee Corp., The Coca Cola Company, Nestle Purina Company and Campbell Soup Company. Greg joined Five Star in 2011 to lead the company’s sales and marketing initiatives and is now the Cheif Revenue Officer. He is a proud alum of the University of Oregon with a degree in Economics and also holds a M.B.A. from the University of Portland.

Pat Barger

Vice President, Sales

Pat joined Five Star in early 2014 after having spent the past 30+ years with ARAMARK Refreshment Services.  His experience includes roles in managing food and vending service operations, mentoring regional sales teams and supporting national account business. These past roles provides him with a unique perspective of our industry.  In his new position Pat will be supporting our sales professionals in the development of customized refreshment solutions for our clients.  Pat is a graduate of James Madison University.

Mark Stephanos

Vice President, Micro-Markets

Mark joined Five Star in 2003 as the Vice President/General Manager for the Kinston, NC and Nashville, TN divisions.   With over 40 years of successful industry experience in dining, vending, office coffee and micro markets, Mark specializes in providing the very best in service to our customers.  Mark joined the corporate office staff in 2012 and leads the company’s Micro-Market and Hotel Pantry lines of business.

Mike Laurer

Vice President, Office Coffee

Mike joined Five Star in early 2014 after 34 years at ARAMARK Refreshments and has extensive experience in Office Coffee, Vending and Micro Markets.  Mike Always on the lookout for new products and equipment and has a team focused management style.  Mike is the current President of TAMA, which is our industry’s state trade association.  He has been a NAMA Certified Executive for over 5 years (NCE5).

Charly Caldwell

Vice President, Dining Services

Charly comes to Five Star with over 35 years’ experience in food service management. Early years with a culinary degree learning the details of dining business, then Dining Manager / Trainer and finance with Restaura Dining. The past 20 years have been as a Finance Director with Aramark overseeing the Southeast. His expertise as an operator gives him the knowledge and tools to strengthen management’s ability to grow and control their business.

Peggy Russell

Vice President, Human Resources

As the Vice President of Human Resources, Peggy Russell has proven her value every day since joining the Five Star Team in 2007. Peggy has worked for over a decade in human resources and operations, and holds a bachelor of science and a masters in business administration from Kansas State University.

Rob Spence

Vice President, Information Technology

Rob Spence joined the Five Star team in 2017 and brings 22 years of IT experience, including 5 years serving as Vice President of Information Technology. Prior to Five Star, Rob worked in the IT field in different industries such as Insurance, Finance, and Telecommunications. Rob is known for building IT teams, developing positive relationships and service, along with designing and implementing IT solutions for the company.

Landon Martin

Director of Risk Management

Given his reputation from his time spent as a Safety/Human Resources Manager and Occupational Safety Specialist, Landon Martin was the ideal choice for Director of Risk Management, when he joined Five Star in 2012. Buddy Duke

Regional Vice President – North

Buddy has held his current position at Five Star since 2008, and comes to Five Star with over 3 decades of combined experience with industry giants Coca Cola and Service America.  Over the years, Buddy has developed exceptional client skills, which also serve him well as an operations management specialist, and mentor to the entire staff.

Beth Conyer

Regional Vice President – Central

Beth’s 20-plus years of industry experience with Canteen Corporation and Service America made her an easy choice when she joined Five Star.  Her skills and experience in both vending and dining services operations inspire and motivate everyone she works with. Beth has been with Five Star since 2001, and she attended Belmont University.

Scott Hale

Regional Vice President – South

Scott joined Five Star in 2001 after 20 years of operations and sales within the Textile Industry. He served as Five Star’s Sales Director in the Southern Region for 13 years and transitioned into VP/GM role over Lagrange and Columbus in 2014. He was promoted to Vice President of Southern Region in July 2018. Scott is a Graduate of Auburn University.

C. J. Recher

Vice President, Marketing

C. J. Recher brings a decade of sales and marketing experience to the team, which he joined in 2014 after stops in NASCAR, Minor League Baseball, and college athletics. He leads our all-star marketing team and is very active in the industry and the community! C. J. serves as Chair of the NAMA Emerging Leaders Network, Co-Founder and Board Member of Feeding the Future, and Board Member of UTC GOLD Council. He is a proud alum and supporter of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he earned his Bachelor’s in Sports Business and a Master’s in Business Administration. Recher is also a graduate of NAMA’s Executive Development Program at Michigan State University. While not at work, you can catch him out running or on the golf course! He lives in Hixson with his wife and two daughters.
